A popular Edinburgh independent sandwich shop has opened a new store in Newington following huge success in the capital.
Alby's, who are based on Portland Place in Leith, have confirmed the opening of a second store on Buccleuch Street after a soft launch earlier in the week.
Just before Christmas, owners Natasha Ferguson and Matt Belcher teased fans on social media with a new location in the capital and just five months later, the pair announced the new venue on Instagram.

Just a few days ago, Alby's posted: "Surprise!!! We're open at Buccleuch Street! A very soft launch, like Lenor soft, super fluffy & gentle now until we sell out."
Alby's have made waves in the hospitality industry in Edinburgh, packing their mouth-watering sarnies with adventurous fillings and attracting scores of customers to their flagship Leith shop.
As well as the exciting announcement, Natasha and Matt also uploaded a few snaps from within their new Newington venue where customers have the option to dine-in as well as takeaway.
The new store is unmissable at number 94 with its bright orange external paint work. In 2019, we reported how Alby's, opened their doors to the public on Portland Place and were an instant hit. At the time, fillings such as calamari, beef short rib and spiced roasted cauliflower went down a treat.
Alby's have racked up over 13,500 followers on Instagram in a matter of years and regularly post images of their latest additions to the ever-changing menu to keep customers on their toes and pouring through the door.
