A popular Edinburgh Asian restaurant has been nominated for a prestigious award in the industry and will attend a red-carpet event in London.
Britannia Spice, in Leith, was nominated alongside Shahbaaz Tandoori in Aberdeen and Spice Tandoori in Elgin as Scotland's three best Asian restaurants at the Asian Restaurant & Takeaway Awards 2022.
Britannia Spice is in with the chance of winning in the Restaurant of the Year category, with staff attending the glamorous event in London on October 2. Attendees for the awards ceremony include journalist and broadcaster Samantha Simmonds and magician Paul Martin.

The coveted awards are in recognition of the UK’s best South Asian cuisine across a series of prestigious regional and national categories. over 2,300 restaurants across the UK are nominated by the restaurant goers and food lovers of over 700,000 customer base of ARTA's strategic partners, ChefOnline.
However, awards are no stranger to Britannia Spice. Since their launch over 20 years ago, the restaurant, named after the Royal Yacht Britannia, have won dozens of industry accolades including being voted the Best in Scotland at the Best in Britain Awards in 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006.
Describing their menu and attributes, the restaurant say: "Sample the wonderful traditional cuisine that Britannia Spice offers. This innovative Edinburgh restaurant combines a diversity of culinary styles from India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Thailand. Each dish is a tribute to years of traditional and memorable eating, prepared with only the finest ingredients by our award winning chefs."
