An Edinburgh Chinese restaurant which recently closed for good could be replaced by a new Asian eatery, with the building undergoing several internal alterations.
Plans have been put to the City of Edinburgh Council's planning team which would see the former Saigon Saigon restaurant replaced by Hoi Tsin, serving a similar range of oriental dishes.
The restaurant, located on South St Andrew Street, closed over a year ago and new proposals have been launched which would give the ground and basement floor of the building a new lease of life.

Formerly advertised as a Dim Sum restaurant, the plans indicate that a similar style of Asian dishes are to be served, with the existing Dim Sum signage on the exterior of the property set to remain.
The applicant, Kylie Pang, is behind the plans, and has also filed blueprints of the proposed elevations. Among changes to the exterior signage, several alterations are to take shape inside the restaurant.
A previous application, validated by the council earlier in the month, reads: "Internal alterations including new accessible WC provision, new kitchen fittings and general cosmetic upgrade, replacement signage."
The restaurant is set over two floors, including a basement floor with additional seating and a bar on both floors.
