A popular Dublin restaurant is set to close due after nearly 13 years.
The owners of Gotham South issued a heartbreaking statement saying the pandemic "dealt a massive blow" to the restaurant which has resulted in them having to make the difficult decision of closing. The Stillorgan eatery will be closing its doors at least for the time being.
The restaurant said that all gift cards and e-vouchers will be honoured in their sister restaurant, Gotham Cafe at 8 South Anne Street, Dublin 2. In a post on social media, owners David and Jackie said: "Unfortunately, after almost 13 years in Stillorgan we have taken the extremely tough decision to close our doors - at least for now.

"The pandemic dealt us a massive blow and our business has never truly recovered." The duo added that they struggled to fully staff the restaurant since March 2020 due to the enormous shortages of skilled hospitality staff.
They said: "The final blow has been the relentless price increases we have been hit with over the last year, not just in basic ingredients but also by way of simple staggering increases (up to 600% in some cases) in gas and electricity."
They continued: "We have very much enjoyed serving all our loyal customers in Stillorgan - many thanks for your business. We would also like to thank each and every one of our crew who passed through our doors over the last 13 years."
