A pair of Windy City staples are back with a limited edition pizza.

The pizza is a fusion of two of Chicago's most popular dishes — the deep dish pizza and the italian beef sandwich. The two first launched the limited edition pizza in 2022, and it was Lou Malnati's highest selling limited pizza, according to the press release.
The pizza will be available for take-home at all 80 Lou Malnati's locations, which are in the Chicagoland area, Phoenix, Indianapolis, and MIlwaukee. And while the two restaurants are most popular in the Midwest, the pizza is available for ordering and shipping nationwide through Tastes of Chicago.

The announcement also comes less than two weeks after Portillo's president, CEO and director announced the company would be aggressively expanding in the next two decades. It is looking to add 920 restaurants locations over the next two decades.
Portillo's — which is known not only for its italian beef sandwiches, but also its Chicago-style hot dogs and chocolate cake shakes — currently has 70 restaurants. Many of them are in the Chicagoland area, but it also has locations in Michigan, Wisconsin, California, Arizona, Texas, and Florida.
The company's short term focus is to expand around the Sunbelt, particularly in Arizona, Florida, and Texas. It will then focus on a few big cities like Atlanta, Denver, and Las Vegas.
