Disruption is expected at a popular tourist spot in Merseyside due to construction works.
The Dee Lane car park, which provides a handy parking spot for visitors to the Marine Lake, West Kirby has been closed for the duration of construction works that will see a new flood defence barrier introduced to the Wirral town. The South Parade road, which runs adjacent to the lake, will also experience disruption.
Various stretches of the road - often used for parking by tourists - will be closed to traffic altogether at certain times to allow the construction of the sea wall. Wirral Council has now asked drivers to consider using public transport instead of personal vehicles in the area, to avoid this disruption.
