Popular baby names for 2023 so far with girls' favourite losing out on top spot

BabyCentre have revealed the top 100 baby names in their mid-year chart for 2023 with one name being knocked off from the top spot.

The chart gives parents an idea of what names are trending ahead of the final results at the end of the year - and can be a great help for those struggling to name their newborns.

This year, it seems the tide has turned as last year's most popular name, Sophia, has been pushed off the top spot by Lily - which has increased in popularity after finishing in second at the end of 2022.
