A popular snack van which served hungry punters at the Heathfield Industrial Estate in Ayr for the last seven years is pulling the shutters down for the final time tomorrow.
Tim’s Tasty Treats is closing because the proprietor, Tim Pilling, has a new venture in East Kilbride that he plans to pursue.
Tim took to social media today and said he’s selling his van, pitch- with a loyal customer base- for a fixed price of £15,000.
It’s been a popular fixture at the Poundstretcher car park in the town since 2016.
Tim said: “It is with great sadness- and many a sleepless night- that I have decided to shut down Tim’s Tasty Treats snack van in consideration for a new business venture up in East Kilbride.
“Our last day will be this Thursday 6th April.
“I would like to thank all my customers for their support over the last seven happy long years and a special thank you to Lyndsay Thomson, who helped me establish the business and to my present staff Gordon and Ross.
“Also a special thank you to Shred Skatepark for allowing storage of my van.”
He added: “It’s been a rollercoaster of a ride, going from full time employment to being self employed and I have met a lots of friends and acquaintances and fellow traders.
“We will still be at Ayr Market on Sundays and I look forward to seeing you all over the next two days.”
Customers have taken to social media as they issued messages of support to Tim and his staff.
Steven Mackie said: “Wow. Gutted to hear this, but also happy, and hopeful that your East Kilbride venture will take off!”
Denise Reilly said: “Best of luck Tim. You did great and I’m sure you will succeed in your next adventure.”
Toni Graham added: “Oh no!!What will all us driving instructors do now for a cuppa? All the best in the new venture!”
