Pink has publicly addressed the backlash she faced over her comments on Macklemore's pro‑Palestinian message during Ed Sheeran's New Jersey shows last week, issuing a lengthy Instagram statement in which she told followers that 'a repost isn't a statement, and a meme isn't a spine.'

The row began when Macklemore opened for Ed Sheeran at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford on 4 and 5 September and used his slot to voice strong support for Palestine before performing his protest track Hind's Hall.
