Poor voter show in urban Majha sparks talk of change

AMRITSAR Pathankot Gurdaspur Tarn Taran

AMRITSAR : The voting trend in all 25 assembly seats of Majha region, which comprises Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Pathankot and Tarn Taran districts, has thrown off calculations earlier made by political parties and now led to speculation by political pundits that no party would get a clearcut majority.

They are of the view that top leaders from the Congress could face defeats, including deputy chief minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, and cabinet minsters Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa and Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria.
