WRU proposals to create an eight-team 'elite' league that will sit above the Welsh Premiership have been described as 'delusional' by a Pontypridd RFC board member.
Mark Rhydderch-Roberts insists the idea, which was exclusively revealed by WalesOnline, will have damaging financial consequences and "swiftly ensure oblivion for the game we know and love in Wales." You can read what's being proposed here.
If the idea for the new league, which would sit between the pro and community games, gets the go ahead, the regions will nominate one semi-professional club each from their pathway, while Rygbi Gogledd Cymru will also be guaranteed a place.
