Polls open in historic Greater Manchester by-election to replace Andy Burnham as mayor

Polls have opened across Greater Manchester, with more than two million voters now able to choose a successor for Andy Burnham as mayor.

The prime minister has urged the public to support Labour’s Bev Craig in the by-election, stating she will ensure "every town, every borough" shares in the region’s success.
