A social media page dedicated to finding the best bands according to voting by their followers has just named the top 100 from Scotland.
It's a hot debate and one that's sure to provoke plenty of discussion, but after weeks of voting, the Facebook page Great Music Polls has picked out the best Scottish bands around.
There are plenty of surprises in the list, but legendary act Primal Scream came out on top with other familiar names including Travis, Big Country and Del Amitri also making the top 10.
Other bands given special mentions but not included in the top 100 were Aussie rockers AC/DC, with the Scottish-born Young brothers; Northern Irish band Snow Patrol, who were founded in Dundee, and US alt-rock band Garbage who are fronted by Scot Shirley Manson.
Voting took place on the page over a number of weeks with bands and acts going head to head to be named in the final list.
Famous bands we'd expect to be higher, such as Biffy Clyro and Frightened Rabbit, didn't even make the top 25, and there were a few surprise entrants higher up such as The Jesus & Mary Chain (5th) and the Blue Nile (17th).
Fans were delighted to see Primal Scream come out on top.
One wrote: " Us Scots have few good bands and without a doubt, they are one of our best."
While another added: "Primal Scream, worthy winners!! Amazing band, great live!! Some absolutely classic albums!!!"
