The Arizona Cardinals made a surprise pick with the first of their two fifth-round picks on Saturday, deciding to go with a quarterback. They selected Houston’s Clayton Tune.
Tune put up big numbers.
The 6-foot-3, 220-pounder threw 70 touchdown passes and more than 7,500 yards over the last two seasons. He also rushed for more than 500 yards last season.
He is an incredible athlete for the position. He can run and move quickly. He can make all the throws.
He told reporters on his conference call following being drafted that he thinks he is the best quarterback in the draft class.
It feels like a pick that could be better used at a different position but it does give them a player they like coming out of college to develop.
What do you think of the pick?
