In the Scottish League Cup, the Hoops won both of their games against Hibs and Falkirk – 3-1 and 5-2 respectively – to book a place in the competition's semi-final at Hampden next month.
And an emphatic 5-1 victory over Slovak champions Slovan Bratislava on Matchday One of the UEFA Champions League marked a near-perfect start to the Parkhead side's European trail.
In Brendan Rodgers' second season since returning as manager, Celtic have wowed fans with fast, aggressive and thoroughly entertaining football.
The Irishman's first spell in the Paradise dugout was, of course, a hugely successful one, with Rodgers helping his side lift seven out of the seven trophies he competed for. The 'Invincibles Treble' was a remarkable achievement, as was the unprecedented 'Double Treble', but the football on display now might be even more exciting.
Recency bias undoubtedly plays its part in the here and now, and there's no guarantee that Celtic can maintain the fine form they're exhibiting at the moment.
But while Celtic's football during Rodgers' first spell as manager – and likewise under Ange Postecoglou's two seasons in charge – was brilliant, is there an argument to be made that right now is the best it's ever been?Are Celtic playing their best football right now since the Martin O'Neill era at the turn of the millennium?
