AIZAWL: Political uncertainty continued to create confusion in the 25-member Mara Autonomous District Council (MADC) where the people gave a hung verdict in the election held on May 5 with political parties holding hectic parleys over formation of a government.
BJP, which secured 12 seats, one short of majority, has been holding negotiations with both the Mizo National Front (MNF) which bagged nine seats and Congress which won four seats. There was also talks between the MNF and Congress, said sources in Siaha town, the district headquarters of southernmost Mizoram's Siaha district and the seat of power of the MADC.
Congress on Tuesday announced that the grand old party would not forge a post-poll alliance and form the next government in MADC with neither withh the saffron party nor the MNF.
