Police are urging Scots to be vigilant following a Covid-19 text scam that is currently doing the rounds.
Officers say they have received several reports over the past few weeks messages leading people to a clone NHS website and asking them to enter their personal details.
This is in return for a small 'postage charge'.
NHS Scotland does not charge for coronavirus tests or for them to be posted out to an address.
The message is also claiming that the recipient has been in contact with someone with the omicron variant of covid - hence the urgency to apply for a test.
The text message reads: "NHS: You have been in contact with someone with the Omicron Variant.
"Apply for a Test Kit today".
There is then a link to the dodgy website.
Falkirk Police is one force which has started warning people against the swindle.
They tweeted: "We are continuing to get reports of scam texts related to Covid tests which leads to a cloned NHS website asking you to enter personal details and pay a small 'postage charge'.
"NHS Scotland does not currently charge for Covid tests and will NEVER ask for payment."
