Six Queensland patrol cars have been damaged in 48 hours after the second dangerous intercept of stolen vehicles in less than a week.
Surfers Paradise police were involved in the latest incident involving two stolen Audi cars that unfolded in the heart of the nightclub strip on the Gold Coast on Thursday night.
Police spotted the first Audi - a black Q7 stolen from Chermside - as the luxury car entered a public car park on Ferny Ave.
While one patrol car followed the Q7, two more police vehicles blocked the car park entrance.
As officers moved to arrest a 29-year-old woman and a 15-year-old girl, the second stolen car - an Audi Q3 taken from Robina - rammed the patrol car causing extensive damage.
The stolen Q3 then tried to escape the car park, crashing into the two police cars at the entrance.
Both police vehicles were unoccupied but damaged in the collision before police detained an 18-year-old man without further incident.
The trio will face court charged with a string of offences including dangerous driving, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and drug offences.
Gold Coast Superintendent Rhys Wildman said it was lucky no officers were injured.
He said the unlawful use of motor vehicles was a growing concern across the state.
"Any time a stolen vehicle is driven at any vehicle, whether it's a police vehicle or not, or driven in a dangerous manner is extremely concerning for us," he told reporters on Friday.
"And obviously, obviously our officers will do everything they can to prevent those actions from being taken."
It is the second dangerous incident involving stolen vehicles this week.
Four police officers were injured, two seriously, when an allegedly stolen truck rammed three patrol cars on Queensland's Darling Downs on Wednesday.
Police allege the truck driver deliberately targeted the officers as they attempted to intercept the vehicle.
A 45-year-old from Oakey faces two counts of attempted murder following the dramatic incident north of Toowoomba.
