Police urge public to 'avoid area' as busy road closed amid incident

POLICE have closed a busy Glasgow road after a person has been hit by a vehicle.

Officers have shut Dumbarton Road in the city's West End following a crash involving a motor and a pedestrian.

Cops were called to the incident at around 5.40pm on Thursday, November 7.

Due to it, the road has been shut between Hawick Street and Mill Road.

Emergency crews are currently in attendance at the incident. Meanwhile, police are urging residents to 'avoid the area'.

It is unknown if anyone has been injured during the crash.

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Dumbarton Road is currently closed following a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

"The incident happened around 5.40pm on Thursday, November 7, 2024.

"The road is closed between Hawick Street and Mill Road. Emergency services are in attendance.

"Please avoid the area.
