Avon and Somerset Police have reissued an appeal to find the perpetrator of a violent and "unprovoked" attack on a young man and a woman in Bristol last month. The assault in the Redland area of the city took place May 5, at sometime between 4.30am and 6am.
The pair, both in their 20s, were walking home on Redland Road when they were approached by an unknown male, who tried to rob them. In the original appeal, the date for the assault was given as May 8, but an update from the force said it took place on May 5.
The unknown man's attempt to steal a wallet was unsuccessful, though he managed to steal a Santa Cruz hat and a grey Nike bag before fleeing in the direction of Zetland Road. The male victim was left with bruising and a split lip in the Redland robbery, in what police called an "unprovoked attack".

Police have released an image of a man they would like to identify in connection with the reported assault. He is described as mixed race, about 6ft tall, in his early 30s, and wearing a Nike hooded top and jogging bottoms.
Detective Constable Jessica Farrow said: "This was an unprovoked attack on two members of the public, who fortunately did not sustain significant physical injury. We are releasing an image of a man who we wish to speak to in connection with our enquiries.
"He is described as mixed race, about 6ft tall, in his early 30s, and wearing a Nike hooded top and jogging bottoms. Anyone who recognises him, witnessed the incident or has relevant footage, please contact us via our website or on 101, quoting reference number 5223106668."
