Police have issued an update after emergency services were called to Headingley Station and trains were suspended for a number of hours.
Services between Leeds and Harrogate were suspended for just under two hours on Tuesday evening. Northern Rail tweeted at 6.36pm to notify people all train services between Leeds and Harrogate were stopped "due to trespassers on the railway".
Services were then suspended until later in the evening, with Northern Rail saying the line had reopened at 8.16pm. British Transport Police said officers were called to Headingley Station at 5.38pm as they were concerned about the welfare of a woman.
Officers attended the scene and took the woman to a place of safety. A BTP spokesman said: "Officers were called to Headingley at 5.38pm on September 13, following concern for the welfare of a woman.
"Officers attended and she was taken to a place of safety."
