The investigation into the killing of UnitedHealthcare’s CEO has revealed crucial pieces of evidence that are essential for both identifying the gunman and ensuring a successful prosecution.

Retired NYPD Detective Michael Alcazar emphasized the significance of DNA evidence in linking the suspect to the crime for courtroom testimony. Once the person of interest is apprehended, the ability to connect him to the evidence becomes paramount.

Investigators have uncovered a trail of evidence, including surveillance video sightings, a burner phone, a water bottle believed to have been dropped by the suspect at the scene, and ammunition with incriminating words left behind. A medical examiner is conducting tests to identify possible DNA evidence on these items.
