Police have discovered hundreds of cannabis plants growing in a Bolton town centre building.
The cannabis farm, containing around 300 plants, was uncovered while officers were responding to a reports of a burglary, a spokesman for the Bolton South division of Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed. It was found in the basement of a property in Deansgate.
Officers from the Farnworth neighbourhood policing team removed the plants from the building and destroyed them. GMP Bolton South posted about the find on their social media pages yesterday evening (Monday October 31).
"After a report of a burglary to a property on Deansgate, Bolton Town Centre, a cannabis farm containing approximately 300 plants was discovered in the basement," a force spokesman said. "Farnworth Neighbourhood Team have attended and the plants have been removed and destroyed."
