Police tents remain next to Leeds Asda after woman found dead in bushes

Police continue to stand guard at a cordon in Harehills today (Fri) after a woman's body was found in some bushes next to the Asda supermarket.

West Yorkshire Police were called to Kimberley Road at 3.19pm on Thursday and immediately shut the street. A large cordon remains in place today (Fri), as well as two blue and white forensic tents.

A spokesperson for the force has now confirmed that a woman's body was found in bushes next to the wall that separates the street from the Asda store. Police are working to establish the circumstances of the woman's death, which is currently being treated as unexplained.

In a statement, the force said: "Police are continuing to carry out enquiries into the death of a woman in Leeds. At 3.19pm yesterday, officers were called to Kimberley Road, Harehills, where the woman’s body had been found in bushes next to the boundary wall of the Asda store.

"A scene remains in place and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of her death, which is currently being treated as unexplained."
