Emergency services descended on Middleton following a crash involving a motorbike and an Amazon delivery van. Police taped off part of Bowness Road, outside Truffet Park, earlier this evening (May 28).

Eyewitnesses reported seeing officers in attendance along with paramedics following the collision. A resident close to the scene told the Manchester Evening News that a male was seen on the ground following the crash.

"All we heard was a big bang," he said. "We came out and it was there.

"It was a van and a bike. We just saw the bike on the floor with the lad."

Recovery work had begun to take place at the scene by 10pm, with a cordon still in place off Gatesgarth Road. The Amazon van could be seen stopped on the corner with Gatesgarth Road before being removed on a truck.

The motorbike was visibly damaged, with debris strewn on Bowness Road. GMP has been approached for further details about the incident.
