Locals have told how police were scrambled to a quiet residential street near the area where a schoolgirl went missing overnight.

Images show the cul-de-sac in a Scottish Borders town cordoned off with officers standing guard and a patrol car nearby. It comes after police confirmed that missing 11-year-old Kaitlyn Easson was found 'safe'.

The Record reports how Kaitlyn Easson was reported missing in Galashiels on Sunday night. She failed to return home after being out with friends.
