One male has been arrested after cops were called to reports of alleged disorder on a street in Glasgow city centre last night.
The alleged incident took place around 7pm amid reports several youths allegedly causing a disturbance outside a premises on Glassford Street. Officers attended the scene and arrested one male in relation.
Footage taken at the site, which was shared on social media, shows hoards of blue-lit police vehicles parked on the street alongside tens of uniformed officers who gather in the middle of the road.
Crowds of young people can be seen lining the pavement and spilling out onto the street, while a van is stationed on nearby Argyle Street to prevent pedestrians or motorists from approaching.
It is understood no one was injured during the alleged incident. Police are liaising with the licensee of an unidentified venue to piece together exactly what happened.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7pm on Saturday, 15 October, 2022, police in Glasgow were called to a report of disorder involving a large number of young people outside a premises in the Glassford Street area.
"One male has been arrested at this time and further enquiries into the incident are ongoing, including engagement with the licensee to establish the full circumstances.”
