Police storm home in Orange after a 14-hour stand-off with wanted man

Tactical police have forced entry into a home in Orange after a 14-hour hour stand-off with a wanted man inside.

On Tuesday morning police attended a home in Piesley Street searching for a 27-year-old man wanted for a shooting in a public place and domestic violence offences.

Police allege the man refused to exit the home and made multiple threats towards officers.

A perimeter was established around the home and and a 29-year-old woman left the house on her own accord shortly after.

At 9:30 pm, after a 14-hour stand-off, the Tactical Operations Regional Support team forced entry into the home and tasered the occupant after a brief struggle.

There were no injuries reported.

The accused man was taken to Orange police station and charged over the outstanding warrants and resisting or hindering police in the execution of duty.
