Police statement as double decker bus 'deliberately set on fire' in Leeds

A double decker bus was set on fire during an arson attack in Leeds over the weekend, according to police.

At aound 8.57pm on Saturday, May 13, West Yorkshire Police(WYP) and West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service rushed to the scene in Bodmin Road, Middleton. Passengers on the bus were evacuated by the driver.

Thankfully no one was injured. WYP say they believe the fire was deliberate and the incident is being treated as an arson attack. An eyewitness said: "I saw a bus on fire in Bodmins, Middleton, at around 8.30pm/9pm. Double decker set on fire, lost top [of bus] due to fire."
