Police searching for these men after brutal city centre attack that left a man with damaged eyesight

Police are searching for four men following a brutal attack in Manchester city centre on New Year's Day. The assault happened on John Dalton Street and left a 31-year-old with damaged eyesight.

The incident, which is still being investigated by Greater Manchester Police, also left the victim with several broken bones. Following numerous enquiries, police are now asking the public for help in identifying four males they wish to speak to.

CCTV images have today (May 9) been released. They show four males, with one wearing a black hat, and three others with dark coloured hair.

Anyone with any information about the incident or able to help identify the four men are now being urged to contact police. The update was shared to the police's City Centre branch page online.

An update on GMP's City Centre page read: "Do you recognise these four people? We want to speak to them following an assault on New Year’s Day on John Dalton Street in the city centre.

"A 31-year-old man sustained several broken facial bones and now has damaged eyesight. A number of lines of enquiry have been followed up since the report was received and now officers are able to release images of people they want to speak to as part of the investigation."
