Man rushed to hospital in critical condition after shooting at Newton

A man has been shot during an incident at Newton, in Adelaide's north-east. 

Police patrols and paramedics were called to Liascos Avenue just before 4pm after reports a man had been shot in the arm and leg. 

The man was rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a critical condition. 

Police said the suspect left the scene before they arrived and investigations are continuing.

Just before 7pm, a man was escorted from a house on the street, handcuffed and loaded into a police vehicle.

Police have asked anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers. 

The man was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to hospital.  (ABC News)
