Officers searching for a missing 67-year-old man have confirmed he has been found safe and well.
John Dowds, from Walker, was last seen in Newcastle on July 27 and was reported missing on August 6. He was described as a white man, of a slim build with grey hair and blue eyes.
Northumbria Police said John has links to the Durham area and it was not uncommon for him to leave his Walker home for an extended period.
