Police searching for missing man, 69, with dementia who left Wigan Hospital

Police are searching for a 69-year-old man who has gone missing after leaving Wigan Hospital.

Michael Fox has dementia and officers say he is likely to be confused about the situation.

He has no money and has not taken his mobile phone.

A police spokesperson posted an appeal on Facebook asking the public to contact GMP if they see Michael.

They said: "Michael Fox, 69 years, was last seen on Wigan Lane, Wigan at around 8:40am on Thursday 27 January.

"He is described as a White Male, 6ft tall, average build with short dark grey hair. Michael was last seen wearing a navy coat, grey t-shirt, black trousers and black shoes.

"Michael has left Wigan Hospital suffering from dementia and is likely to be confused, and isn’t in possession of his money or mobile phone.

"Officers are becoming increasingly concerned about Michael and want to make sure he is safe and well."

Police also released a picture of Michael.

Anyone with information about Michael’s whereabouts should contact police on 0161 856 7122.
