Police have identified a man after they released a picture of a man they wanted to speak to after an assault in North Shields put a man in hospital.
Shortly before 1.30am on Friday February 3, police attended an Esso Garage in Chirton after it was reported two men had assaulted a third man.
A 34-year-old man sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result. He was taken to hospital for treatment and was later discharged.
Officers have spoken to one man in connection with the incident and have now identified a second male after an appeal.
