Police suspect three men were involved in the death of an Illawarra man allegedly killed inside his home last year, after one man was charged with his murder.
The body of Matthew Davis, 31, was discovered inside his Thomas Street house in Warilla on August 23, 2021 by a friend who called police.
On Wednesday, officers attached to Strike Force Sienna searched a home on Belfast Avenue, where they seized clothes, shoes and notepads.
Police arrested Stephen William Staff at the house and charged him with Mr Davis' murder.
The 65-year-old faced Wollongong Court today and did not apply for bail.
The ABC understands Mr Davis was a vulnerable man who suffered from a fragile bone condition, and police were investigating whether he died during a fall.
But Chief Inspector Glenn Broadhead said police acted after receiving a report by the forensic pathologist which indicated the cause of death was blunt force cranial facial trauma with neck compression.

"The catalyst for it to become a murder investigation was the examination that was completed by the forensic pathologist," Sergeant Broadhead said.
Police released CCTV footage which depicted cars driving near Mr Davis' home.
They alleged one of the vehicles belonged to Mr Staff.
Footage was also released showing three men walking on a nearby road. Police are appealing for witnesses to identify the men, who they suspect may have been involved in the death.
"We are still looking for two offenders," Sergeant Broadhead said.
"We have not been able to identify who they are at this stage, and we would appeal to anyone in the public who may have information as to who those offenders may be."
