Police Scotland close city promenade after body found on beach

POLICE Scotland has sealed off a city centre promenade after a man's body was found on the beach.

Officers were called to Aberdeen beach at 10.30am on Monday morning, with eight police vehicles in attendance and one ambulance. The ambulance has since left.

Public vehicles were turned about from the scene as a cordon was erected beside the road. 

A police spokesperson said: "Around 10.15am on Monday, 7 October, 2024, the body of a man was discovered on Aberdeen beach,

"Formal identification is yet to take place and there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

"Inquires are ongoing."
