Police release photos of 20 men sought in connection with disorder at Bolton Wanderers match

Police have released the photos of 20 men they want to speak in connection with disorder at a Bolton Wanderers match. Trouble flared inside and outside the University of Bolton stadium during and after the Trotters' 6-0 win over Sunderland on Saturday, January 29.

Police say a number of incidents occurred, including assault of a police officer, criminal damage and public order offences. Mobile footage shared on social media after the match shows fans clashing with police outside the ground and rival supporters fighting on a grass verge near the stadium.

Another clip shows fans taunting each during the match. A statement on the GMP Bolton Facebook page said: "Police have released images of a number of people they wish to speak to in connection with disorder at the Bolton Wanderers V Sunderland match on Saturday 29 January 2022. A number of incidents occurred both inside and outside of the stadium including assault of a police officers, criminal damage and public order offences."
