Police release images of what 15-year-old boy who disappeared 23 years ago might look like today

Detectives investigating the disappearance of a teenage boy almost 23-years-ago have released computer-generated images of what he might look like today. Phillip Harris was just 15 when he vanished from his family home in St Eleanors Close, West Bromwich, on the morning of July 28, 1999.

He told his family he was going to visit a friend in Northfield. He later rang his foster parents to say he would be staying overnight with a friend.

Despite extensive searches and appeals in Birmingham and Manchester, where Phillip’s family were known to have links, there have been no confirmed sightings of him since that fateful day.

Earlier this year, officers conducted a three-week-long search at a property on St Paul’s Road in Smethwick, which had been linked to Phillip at the time. Ultimately, nothing was found to help with the police investigation.

Officers from West Midlands Police’s unsolved missing persons team have now released two forensic artist images showing what Phillip might look like today as a 38-year-old. It is hoped someone might recognise a person who looks similar to the images and share information with the police.

Police said that Phillip’s family continued to ‘miss him terribly’, and officers were committed to finding Phillip. Detective Sergeant Andrew Padmore, from the Locate team, said: “The investigation into Phillip’s whereabouts remains very much open.

“We have released these images, in the hope that someone may recognise him, or it will trigger a memory for someone to come forward with any information. Any information, no matter how small it may seem, may really help our investigation, so we urge anyone to contact us.

“Phillip’s family continue to miss him terribly and my team and I are committed to finding Phillip to solve the mystery of what has happened to him.”

Information can be shared via the West Midlands Police website at west-midlands.police.uk or by contacting Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting PID33326.
