Police have released a description of three men they want to speak after a climber was injured by a falling rock in the Peak District over the Bank Holiday weekend.
The climber - a man in his 30s - was beginning an ascent on Bamford Edge in Hope Valley on Saturday (30 April) when he was hit by a boulder which had fallen from the top of the rock face. He was taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg, which later turned out to be badly bruised.
Mountain Rescue teams in Edale warned the incident could have proved fatal if the man had not been wearing a helmet as the rock connected with his head before landing on his leg.

Derbyshire Police say they are keen to speak to three men who were seen close to where the rock fell shortly before the climber was hit. They are all thought to be in their early to mid-20s, with one man described as having short black hair and wearing a white tracksuit top and bottom.
The second man is described as around 5'10inches tall and was wearing an all-black tracksuit. The third man is thought to have been wearing a North Face jacket over black tracksuit bottoms. Police say they don't know the exact circumstances of how the rock came to fall and they are urging anyone with information to get in touch.
