Police refer themselves to IOPC after two teenagers found dead in suspected suicide pact

Dorset Police have referred themselves for investigation over their contact with a teen couple who died by suspected suicide pact.

The police force referred themselves to the police watchdog, the Independent Office of Police Conduct ( IOPC ), over the tragedy that happened at Bothenhampton Nature Reserve.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Dorset Police said: "Dorset Police has made a mandatory referral to the IOPC in line with procedures related to the death or serious injury of an individual, we await further guidance from the IOPC on the matter."
