Police probe West Lothian pizza shop break in that saw thug leave 'empty handed'

Police Scotland are probing a West Lothian pizza shop break in that saw thug leave 'empty handed' after destroying the front of the shop.

The incident caught on CCTV took place at around 3am on Saturday, 28 May, 2022 in Broxburn.

A man was caught on camera forcing entry into the pizza restaurant on Canal Road, Winchburgh.

He then enters the premises and looks around before leaving empty handed.

The suspect is white, with a slim build. He was wearing a black jacket, black tracksuit trousers, white, trainers, a face mask and black gloves.

Following the break-in, the man gets into a vehicle and drives up Stonebyers Road onto the B9080.

Police Scotland confirmed: "Detectives are reviewing CCTV from in and around the area for any additional information and forensics officers have taken samples from inside the restaurant.

"The front of the restaurant has been badly damaged in the break-in and officers are appealing for anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious to contact them.

"Anyone with a dash cam is asked to check their footage as it could have captured an image which could assist the investigation.

"Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 0546 of 28 May 2022. Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where you can give your information anonymously."
