A police officer from the North East is sitting above Mariah Carey in the iTunes charts after releasing his first single.
Jordan Coulthard's tune 'Miracle' was released on streaming services on Friday. The 23-year-old, who goes by his surname Coulthard, has put his own spin on the dance classic by Coco Star.
Coco released her song 'I need a miracle' back in 1995 and it was re-released in 2000 by Fragma under 'Toca's Miracle'. During the covid-19 lockdown, Jordan started chatting to Coco online about his music.

Jordan, lives in Newton Aycliffe, County Durham, began working on his own version of the song after noticing that it had never been covered by a male. He said he got positive feedback from Coco and she gave him her backing to release it.
'Miracle' is currently number 25 in the iTunes chart - above Mariah Carey's famous Christmas song All I want for Christmas Is You. The highest position it has reached in the chart so far is number 15.
He said: "I can't even contemplate what's going on right now. I'm just a lad from the North East putting my music out. I didn't anticipate any of this at all but it's so nice.
"It just started off as an idea. When Coco gave it her backing I thought that's all I need. I thought I would maybe try and make the top 100 and it's at 25, sat in front of Mariah Carey!
"I have been teasing it on social media for the past month and when the song came out I was sharing it like mad. People have jumped on it and I have just had JD Sports add it to their play list across the country. It's surreal."
Jordan said he spent six months making the single and worked with AEC music to get it released. He said they uploaded it to a distribution team and it broke out across the streaming services.
Jordan said: "Since I was 13 I have always dabbled with music. I used to post remixes of tracks on YouTube and Sound Cloud. During the lockdown, I started to really take it seriously.
"Coco has been like my mentor and my advisor through the whole thing. She's became a friend. I never had the knowledge or understanding of how to put it out there.
"It entered at number 174 and just started going up and up. I haven't really had any bad backlash from it, it's been really nice. I have only had one or two negative comments.
"My friends and family are absolutely buzzing with it. They know I have been interested in music since I was a kid and they expected something like this to happen."
Jordan said he played the single at Blakes in Newton Aycliffe and discovered that he also enjoys performing. He plans to carry on making music and has reached out to Mel C for his next track, which he plans to call 'Sporty Spice'.
He said: "I'm taking each day as it comes. Thank you just does not seem enough because I didn't expect it. If it wasn't for people buying it it would slip off the chart. I'm asking for people's support with it."
