Police officer accused of taking sexually explicit selfies while on duty in uniform

A British Transport Police officer (Andrew Milligan/PA) - (PA Wire)

A police officer accused of filming himself performing sex acts while on duty and in uniform is facing misconduct proceedings.

PC Ian Whitmill is said to have taken multiple explicit selfies between October 2022 and March this year while working for British Transport Police.

It is alleged PC Whitmill took numerous selfies, including images of his penis and video recordings of solo sex acts, when he was on duty and in uniform.

He is said to have sent “sexting messages” and sexually explicit selfie images to “third parties” during this period.

A misconduct notice sets out that the PC is accused of “using police equipment inappropriately” while taking the images and videos.

And he also faces claims of possessing extreme pornography featuring bestiality and posting messages on a “swinging” chat group while on duty in 2023.

PC Whitmill faces charges that he breached “the Standards of Professional Behaviour relating to Discreditable Conduct and Duties and Responsibilities”.

A fast-track misconduct hearing is set to take place on Friday at the British Transport Police base in London Bridge.

If found guilty of gross misconduct, he could face dismissal from the force.
