A teenager killed in a crash on the A77 on Sunday has been named as Adam Smith.
Police say the local teen was pronounced dead at the scene of the single vehicle crash at around 12.40am on Sunday.
The crash took place near Ballantrae on the major road with Adam's blue Ford Fiesta the only motor involved.
The road was closed for 11 hours following the fatal smash.
Sergeant Stewart Taylor from Irvine’s Road Policing Unit said: “Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Adam at this difficult time.
“Our enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing for anyone who was in the area and witnessed the crash or who may have information which can assist, and who has not already spoken to officers to get in touch.
“I would also appeal to anyone with dash-cam footage to contact us.”
