Police have named a suspected Encrochat drug dealer after making an arrest yesterday.
Niall Barry has been held on suspicion of drug offences, as part of Merseyside police's Operation Venetic investigation into crimes connected to the Encrochat encrypted mobile devices. The 25-year-old, from Old Swan, has been charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs (heroin and cocaine), and Class B drugs (cannabis).
Barry was remanded into custody, on Wednesday, September 14 and is due to appear in court this morning, on Thursday, September 15.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Detectives have charged a Liverpool man with drug offences as part of Operation Venetic yesterday, Wednesday 14 September. Niall Barry, 25, from Old Swan, has been charged with conspiracy to supply Class A drugs (heroin and cocaine), and Class B drugs (cannabis).
"Barry was remanded into custody overnight and is due to appear at Sefton Magistrates Court this morning, Thursday 15 September. The charge forms part of the Merseyside Police response to Operation Venetic: a national investigation into the use of Encrochat encrypted mobile devices."
