Police name suspect after man assaulted in home

Police have charged a man after a man was assaulted at a home in Wirral.

Merseyside Police were called to reports that a man was assaulted at an address on Barnston Towers Close, Heswall at around 10.50pm on Saturday (May 14). Shortly after, they arrested a man on Whitehouse Lane on suspicion of causing a section 18 assault and possession of a class B drug.

Connor Sean Kelly, 22, of Fieldway Court, Birkenhead, was charged and remanded into custody. He appeared at Liverpool Knowsley and Sefton adult remand court on Monday (May 16).

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police told the ECHO : "A 22-year-old man has been charged with assault and possession of a Class B drug after an incident in Heswall on Saturday evening 14 May.

"At around 10.50pm officers received a report that a man had been assaulted at an address on Barnston Towers Close.

"Officers then arrested a man a short time later on Whitehouse Lane on suspicion of causing a section 18 assault and possession of a class B drug.

"Connor Sean Kelly of Fieldway Court was charged on Sunday 15 May and remanded into custody. He appeared at Liverpool Knowsley and Sefton adult remand court this morning."
