Police name Peter Ross as man killed in road crash on A78 near Troon

A man killed in a road crash near Troon yesterday has been named as Peter Ross.

The 29-year-old, from Saltcoats, was driving a blue Ford Focus ST when it collided with a stationary HGV parked in a layby around half a mile from the Corraith slip road on the A78.

Mr Ross was the sole occupant of the car and was pronounced dead at the scene.
