Police move to calm fears over kids being allegedly targeted in Wishaw

Police have moved to calm fears from concerned parents over children being allegedly targeted by men in Wishaw.

Lanarkshire Live was contacted by several worried members of the public following the alleged incidents earlier this week in two areas of the town.

However in response to our enquiries, Chief Inspector Lex Baillie, local area commander said: “We are aware of posts circulating on social media in relation to two separate incidents of youths being approached by men in black vehicles in the Wishaw area.

“A full investigation was carried in to both incidents and no criminality was established.

“Advice and guidance has been given to those involved on each occasion.

“No further reports have made to police about similar incidents in and around the Wishaw area.”
