Police have issued an update after a man on a bike was hit by a car.
Police were called to Heygarth Road in Eastham on Tuesday at around 11.20am to reports of a crash. This involved a man on a bike and a blue Seat car.
A cordon was in place on Heygarth Road, past Heygarth Primary School, and a separate cordon on Hillary Road. Eyewitnesses said an air ambulance landed nearby, with two ambulances and four police cars.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said the cyclist was taken to hospital and the driver remained at the scene. In an update today, police said the man suffered serious injuries following the crash.
He is currently in a stable condition. Heygarth Road and Hillary Road was closed while officers continued their enquiries and has since been reopened.
