A man who was arrested after a dog attacked two women in Oldham has been bailed, police have confirmed.
Armed police rushed to the scene of the incident on Shakespeare Road yesterday morning (Saturday) after the 'aggressive' animal escaped from a property and attacked the two victims.
Both women were rushed to hospital with serious injuries. Officers shot the dog 'due to the number of people in the area and the injuries caused'.

A 29-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of an offence under the Dangerous Dogs Act. In an update issued this morning (Sunday), a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said that he had since been bailed.
Residents on Shakespeare Road yesterday described the harrowing moment they heard GMP marksmen open fire on the street. One woman told the Manchester Evening News: "I didn't know about any of it until my daughter came to drop some shopping off and said she couldn't get through because of all the police.
"I looked outside and there were two police cars and paramedics. Shortly before 11am, we heard three shots which sounded like gunshots which was quite distressing. I've never heard anything like that before."
Another woman said: "There was police everywhere - probably about two police cars and three dog cars."
Enquiries are ongoing into the incident.
